I am sure that many of you have seen the website offering NIW DIY kits or EB-1 DIY kits.  I have seen a couple of them and think that for the most part some of them are quite comprehensive.  Comprehensive means that they offer a decent overview of the NIW and EB-1 processes.  Would I recommend people to use them?  No. Why? Because many of these so called DIY kits are merely shells.  There is still quite a bit of heavy lifting that needs to be done to ensure that your I-140 will be approved. Furthermore,  many of you are busy in labs preparing for experiments and reviewing articles for peer-reviewed journal publications.  For those of you who are too busy to do your laundry, I would recommend that you work with one of our experienced attorneys and leave the DIY NIW kit alone.

The problem with working on your NIW or EB-1 application on your own is that oftentimes many researchers start the process and are not able to finish.  It may also be difficult obtaining suitable letters of recommendation.  Working with an attorney will offer you many advantages.  Because we have worked with hundreds of reseachers, we have templates of successful letters from every field ranging from entrepreneur letters to cancer reserachers to letters for electrical engineers.  Starting the process by yourself can be very daunting especially if you do not have a clear roadmap of where you need to go and what you need to accomplish.
